Capacity Isla Canela Beaches

Capacity Isla Canela Beaches

Now that we have reached the new normality we must start to think about our summer plans visiting the Isla Canela coastline. One of the issues on the beaches is capacity on days when there will be a large influx of visitors will there be space for everyone or will some people be prevented access to the beach.

To monitor the visitor numbers of any of them, the My Safe Beach application is now available for both iOS and Android. With this app at our disposal we are able to see on our mobile device the percentage of occupation of most of the beaches on the coast specifically, of all those found between Punta Umbria and Ayamonte.

Looking back to last weekend at the visitors to all these coastal beaches, the issue of seating should not give any visitor a headache. To give an example, on Saturday afternoon none of the controlled points was anywhere near full at least if we trust the information provided by this application. On the west coast, a quarter of the capacity was not exceeded, with percentages ranging from 10% of Isla Canela, Central Beach of Isla Cristina, Urbasur, San Miguel in Cartaya or arrow of Nueva Umbria, to 20% of La Antilla. Unfortunatly there was no data from Mazagon or Matalascanas, Punta Umbria was the one with the highest occupation, with percentages ranging from 35% of La Bota, Los Enebrales or La Canaleta, to  55% of the most urban area of the Puntaumbrian beach.

As we can see there was still a lot of capacity for the first weekend of summer. It is true that visitors from the rest of Spanish towns and cities and foreigners are yet to come, but we suspect that we will not have to suffer those dreaded queues to reach the beach which is one of the advantages of enjoying one of the most extensive and privileged beach lines in Europe here in Isla Canela.
